Pastoral Prayers For All Seasons
When we are young, Our Creator, we simply don't think of death. It doesn't seem to apply to us. When we come to our middle years we become aware of death, but we do our best to ignore it. It's frightening. Slowly we realize that some day it will claim us. When we grow still older we make our peace with death. There are even times when we look forward to its happening. Not that we have given up on life, but it is the next great event of our lives, and on the other side awaits a life that we have been moving toward all the days of our existence.
