Pastoral Prayers For All Seasons
One afternoon, dear God, we stood at the side of a road out west in what is often called "Big Sky Country." We were able to see the far distant horizons in all four directions. To the north a rain storm was in action, easily identified by its dark rolling clouds. To the east we could see hazy purple mountains stretching high into the sky, so high that we identified white clouds lower than the mountain tops, yet higher than the desert floor. To the south we enjoyed the brilliant sunshine highlighting green plants in between long stretches of sand.
