Children's Activity
Object:
Materials
Popsicle sticks, 8 for each picture frame
Glue
Paint
Stickers, ribbons, beads, and so forth, for decorating
Digital camera or Polaroid camera
Instructions
Take instant pictures of each of the children and set them aside to develop. Or take digital pictures and print 3 x 4-inch or 4 x 4-inch copies on your color printer.
Paint the popsicle sticks and allow to dry either beforehand or earlier in the lesson. Glue popsicle sticks together in twos side-by-side. Give each child his/her picture. Place a set of sticks on each side of the picture to get a rough measurement, and then place the sticks slightly closer together than the width of the picture. Place one set of sticks across the top of the sides, and one set across the bottom. Glue these to the sides just slightly closer together than the height of the picture. Glue the front edges of the picture to the backs of the side pieces. Let the children decorate the frames with stickers, ribbons, beads, and so forth, as desired.
