The best vitamin

Good morning, boys and girls. How many of you take a vitamin in the morning when you eat breakfast? (let them answer) Do any of you know the name of your vitamin? (let them answer) What is in your vitamin? (let them answer) Some people take vitamin A. Some take vitamin B. Some take vitamin C, others vitamin D, and vitamin E. I don't think there is any vitamin P, or vitamin Z. But most of you take vitamins.
Is there anyone here who knows why they take vitamins? (let them answer) The vitamin makes you strong, helps your eyesight, keeps you from getting colds, builds strong bones, and does many other things. Some people take a vitamin that has A, B, C, D, and E in one tablet, or one capsule. Some people take their vitamins like a liquid and drink them. Did you know that you could even take your vitamins by getting a shot with a needle? How many of you would like to take your vitamins with a shot in your arm? (let them answer) I didn't think so.
There are a lot of good things in this bottle of vitamins, but none of them are any good to you unless you take them regularly. If you take one today and another one in two weeks, it won't help you much. Every day you take a vitamin and it builds you up. When we take vitamins, we are improving our lives. We live healthier and longer lives.
What about a different kind of life? Even if we take all of our vitamins and live a long time we are still going to die someday. We may be 100 years old, but we will die. Then what happens? (let them answer)
The Bible teaches us something very important. We can't make ourselves live forever. We can have the best looking bodies and we still die. The Bible teaches us that no matter how smart we are, or how strong we are, or how nice we are, we are still going to have our life come to an end on earth.
But God did give us something that will allow us to live forever. Do you know what you can take that will let you live forever and live a perfect life? (let them answer) The Bible teaches us that the life that lives forever is found in Jesus. Believing in Jesus and being a disciple of Jesus gives us the perfect life after death on earth. Knowing Jesus every day through reading our Bibles, praying to Jesus, sharing Jesus with others, and worshiping Jesus like we are doing this morning is the way to the perfect life forever.
The next time you take a vitamin, remember that you have done a good thing for yourself. When you take Jesus into your heart, then you will have the perfect life and it will last forever. Amen.
