Bitter medicine
Children's Activity
Teachers or Parents: The "bitter cup" Jesus had to take goes against our sense of fairness. Children are especially attuned to what's fair and what's not fair.
* Why must medicine taste so bad to do good? In a similar way we wonder why must Christ die for the salvation of the world?
* Read the "Passion narrative" (John 18:1--19:42) from a modern translation or a children's Bible. With sufficient preparation, you can divide parts and act them out with your own play.
* Read parts of the gospel and stop at the various sections and ask if there are any questions.
