SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME
AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT HOME
Directions:
In this game of "Follow the Leader," select a leader (either a child or an adult helper) and have them stand outside the room. Give the rest of the children a "forbidden" action. (For example, "do not raise your left hand above your head" or "do not smile.") When the leader comes back, have the children follow the leader -- both following where the leader leads and copying any actions the leader makes. Children must remember, however, not to do the forbidden action. If they do the forbidden action, they are out. (If they fail to copy the leader correctly, they are also out.) When the game is finished, talk about role models: all role models are people and they sometimes make mistakes. It can be good to copy the behavior of someone we admire but we must also remember to use our own common sense so that we don't copy the bad things that our role model might do.
