Do unto others cards
Children's Activity
Object:
Teachers: Give each student a set of index cards. Each student
should receive the same number of cards as there are other
students in the class. Cards should be used in the following way:
On each set of cards, students should write something nice about
each of the other students in the class. Students should then
sign their names to the cards. The cards should be given to the
students mentioned on them.
In this way, each student will have one set of cards written by each of the other members of the class. Examples of things to write include: I like your smile; you are always nice to me; or, you are my friend. This exercise demonstrates how to do something to others that you would like to have done to yourself. In short, students learn to pay compliments to each other.
Parents: Your child wrote something nice about each member of her class on a card. The cards were then given to the other class members. Try this at home. Give a set of index cards to each member of the family. Each member should write something nice about other family members. Sign the cards and give them to the other family members. Read them aloud during a meal.
