Enemies and friends
Children's Activity
Object:
Teachers or Parents: In our war against the devil and his
minions, it is important to identify those who are on our side
and those who are against us. We live in a society that is
increasingly becoming non-Christian and even anti-Christian. Our
children need to recognize who is for us and who is against us.
True Christians in this twenty-first century may have to face the
worst persecution since the early days of the church.
*Play a game using some marbles of two different colors. Put
an equal number of each in a container and have each child draw
one out without revealing to the others which color is drawn.
Select one child to start the game. This child is to pick half of
the children to be on his/her side without knowing what color
marble they hold. When the selection is complete, let the
children reveal their color. If more than half of the children
picked have the same color as the child who started the game,
that child wins. If more than half of those he/she picked have
the other color, the child loses. Play as many rounds as you
wish. With a small group, you can let everyone have a turn. When
the game is over, discuss with them how important it is to know
who is on our side regarding Christianity and who is against us.
Discuss also how, as in the game, it is not always easy to
identify our enemies from our friends.
Sunday school assembly opening:
*Sing the hymn, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."
