Object:
a strip of paper 11 inches long and an inch or so wide.
Make a circle of the paper -- then turn one end over. Use tape
or glue to hold it. Do this as part of the children's sermon.
The result is a sheet of paper with only one side. (Test this
out
Good morning! If I had a sheet of paper like this (show
them the paper) you would see that it has two broad sides. There
is a "top" side and a "bottom" side. If I make this strip of
paper a circle, I still have two sides -- an "inner" side and an
"outer" one. But if I turn one of the sides over, I end up with
something that looks like a number eight. Actually it is a line
that has no beginning or no end to it. Here, trace your finger
and see how your finger ends up where it began -- even though it
touches every surface!
