He knows you so well
Children's Activity
Object:
It's amazing to consider that God knows the number of hairs on our heads. How could anyone know us so well? I think I know myself better than anyone, but I don't even know how many hairs I have on my head. Plus, how many hairs I have changes all the time! How could someone keep up with all the new information? Today's lesson reassures us that God is closer to us than we can possibly imagine. He created us, so he knows us and loves us more completely than anyone ever can.
For an activity, trace the outline of a child on a large piece of banner paper. Color in the features, hair and clothing of the person. Look at the picture with your children and pretend that the drawing represents a real person. What does God know about this person? How many hairs does he have? See how many things you and the children can come up with. As you have ideas, write them in the margin around the drawing.
Try to fill up your paper with as many things as possible. Help the children realize that God not only knows factual information about our bodies, he knows the things we'll do with our bodies. Don't just stay on literal things -- God knows everything! Here are some different examples to consider:
Heart: God knows how many times it will beat in our lives AND how we feel at different times.
Feet: God knows how many steps we will take in our lives AND where in the world our feet will take us.
Hands: God knows how many hairs and wrinkles they have AND how our hands will be helpful to other people in the world.
