Hearers and doers
Children's Activity
Object:
Parents and Teachers: If you use the entire lesson (verse 15
to 29) you can use two themes in your activity.
First, play a game of Simon Says. Instead of Simon, make it Jesus Says. Base this on verses 24 to 29, in reference to hearers and doers. Let your children know that this is an important game of listening and following directions. The person who can follow directions is a wise person, according to Jesus.
Instead of making only one winner, let everyone win. Reward all good hearers and doers with a snack. Base this on verses 15 to 20. All finishers should receive a snack of good fruit.
While eating the snack ask the children to name a snack they think Jesus would have liked to eat when he was a boy. Then ask them what games they think Jesus would have liked to play when he was a boy.
