Children's Activity
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT HOME
Materials:
Construction paper
Markers
Hole punch
Drinking straws
Small plastic lids -- such as margarine tubs, sour cream, yogurt, and such
Small amount of Play-Doh
Directions:
1. Give the children each a piece of construction paper.
2. Help them cut a triangle shape from the paper, to be used as a sail.
3. Allow the children to decorate their sails however they choose.
4. Using the hole punch, help the children punch three holes along the straight side of the triangles. Try to keep the holes equal distances apart.
5. Have the children weave the straws through the holes in their triangle sails.
6. Put a small mound of Play-Doh in the center of each lid (rim side up).
7. Direct the children to place the straws into the Play-Doh with the triangle pointing up as a sail.
8. Tell the children to take their boats home place them in the sink or bathtub and watch them float.
