"Remember to say thanks"
Children's Activity
Object:
Teachers or Parents: We live in what is rapidly becoming a
society devoid of the social graces of the past. Rudeness is so
common today that it is taken for granted. Here is an opportunity
to show our children the importance of saying "thank you" to God
and others.
*Read the Gospel account of the ten lepers who were healed
and ask the children to think of reasons why the nine did not
come back to thank Jesus.
*Ask the children to draw pictures of the things that they
are thankful for and then have each one show a picture and talk
about it.
*Share with the children some things that you are thankful
for. Tell them how you express your thankfulness to God and
others.
Sunday school assembly opening:
*Sing a hymn of thanksgiving such as "Now Thank We All Our
God."
*Have a "thanksgiving prayer" to thank God for blessings.
Have each child contribute something he or she wants to thank God
for.
