Children's Activity
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT
HOME
Materials:
Baby food jars with lids emptied and cleaned with labels removed (1 per child)
Colorful paper cut into 1/2 inch strips (10 to 14 per child)
Scissors
Pens
Ribbon cut into 15- to 18-inch lengths (1 per child)
Paint, markers, flowers, craft foam, fabric, glitter, and other decorating materials
Heavy glue
Directions:
1. Give each of the children a baby food jar.
2. Allow the children to decorate their jars as desired.
3. Remind the children to also decorate the lids.
4. Have each run a strip of ribbon around the edge of the lid and tie it with a bow.
5. Give the children the strips of colored paper.
6. Help the children brainstorm ways that they can be Christian servants in their everyday lives.
7. Have the children write one activity on each of their ten to fourteen strips.
8. Have the children then place these strips in their jars and place the lids back on them.
9. Challenge the children to perform one or more task each day/week/month, depending on the level of difficulty.
