Spread the news
Children's Activity
Object:
Alleluia! He is risen! Sometimes it seems like Lent will
never end, but it always does. We have been given the promise of
Easter for every Good Friday of our lives.
For a group activity, think with the children about how we
might spread the news if the actual Easter happened today. What
would the newspapers say? What would the newscasters be saying on
tonight's evening news? Have the children work together to make a
special "Easter Edition" newspaper. Someone can be the reporter
and interview Mary, the disciples and/or Jesus. Someone can be
the photographer or sketch artist for the news story. Don't
forget to interview the average person on the street and get his
or her impressions!
At home, spend time with the children celebrating the
arrival of Easter. Make Easter cookies, have an Easter egg hunt,
share a special meal together. Find your own ways to spread the
news and celebrate that Jesus has risen from the dead. Happy
Easter!
