Spreading fame
Children's Activity
Object:
Teachers or Parents: Who doesn't like knowing someone famous?
It lends luster to our own often dull and lackluster lives. As
Christians we are privileged to know Jesus -- the most famous
person who ever lived and who lives right now. What a privilege
that we adults often overlook! What's more, Jesus knows us -- by
name! In fact, Jesus knows us better than we can know ourselves!
Amazing, isn't it?
Ask the children about famous people they may have met (or someone their parents may have met). Perhaps they have signed autographs or some other mementos of that famous person. Share your stories of well-known people you have seen or met. Then top it off by telling them about Jesus and how he is more famous than anyone because of what he said and what he did and still does. Tell the children that you know him. Tell them you know he knows them as well. Tell them how important they are to him (and to you and the whole congregation).
