1.
The children will collect the canned and dry goods and put them in one area so that they can see what their efforts have produced.
2.
After the children have collected all of the goods to be delivered, they should collectively create a "thank-you" poster for the congregation. This poster can be decorated with markers, crayons, glitter, or any other decorating supplies.
Activities for Proper 14
1.
Gather all of the children together in a circle. They may sit on chairs or carpet squares on the floor but they need to be close enough that they can hold hands.
2.
Talk with the children in the group about what fears they have. As the leader or teacher of the group, you should share one or more of your fears with the children first so that they can see that it is okay to talk about those things. Ask them if they would like to share those with the class. If they want to, they are welcomed to share. If they would rather not, that is okay as well.
3.
After each child tells of his fear, the group will hold hands and pray for each child after they finish talking about that person's fear.
4.
Go all the way around the circle, allowing each child to speak if they wish. After you have gone all the way around the circle, say one prayer that includes everyone in the group.
5.
Stress to the children that everyone has fears and the best way to overcome those fears is to trust in God and he will take care of you.
