Thanks for good people

Good morning! One thing we know about Saint Paul is that he
was a man of prayer. We can tell from his letters that he prayed
a lot. What about you? Do all of you pray to God? (Let them
answer.)
Well, when you pray, what do you talk to God about? Do you
ask Him to do things, to give you things, or do you sometimes
just thank Him for what He has already given you? (Let them
answer.)
Most of us are not too good about thanking God for what we
already have, so I am going to ask you to do that today. Let's
all think about the good people that God has given to us and
thank Him for that. I have a pad here and I want to make a list
of the good people God has made a part of our lives. Tell me who
you are thankful for. (List the people as they mention them. You
may have to mention a couple, such as the police who protect us,
the firemen, and so forth.)
Now, that's a good list. I know we could think of a lot more
if we took more time, but that's enough for now. Let's thank God
for these people now, but let's also remember in our own prayers
always to thank God for the good people that He puts into our
lives. Will you try to do that? (Let them answer.)
Dear God in Heaven: We are so thankful that You have given us
(read from the list). Keep us ever mindful of how important they
are to us. Amen.
