Time, Treasure and Talent
Children's Activity
Object:
Parents or Teachers: The lesson today is about counting the cost of being a
Christian. The children's message used the three words -- time, treasure
and talent to illustrate the cost of what we give. You will need a large
piece of paper for each child. Have each child draw a large heart in the
center of the paper. The caption on the paper could be "What Does It
Cost?" You may want to print the words TIME, TREASURE, and TALENT on
smaller pieces of paper with a border around each one, and have the
children cut out each word to glue on the heart. Discuss what each word
means and how each one might be illustrated. Perhaps a clock for time,
some coins for treasure and some musical notes for talent. Have each of
the children illustrate the words either inside or outside the heart
depending on how large the heart is. Point out that the heart represents
the fact that we give our time, treasure and talent because we love God.
Our time, our treasure and our talent are what it "costs" to be a
Christian.
