Where's Jesus?
Children's Activity
Object:
Teachers or Parents: In this lesson Jesus tried to take his
disciples to a deserted location to get away from people for a
brief period. As they were leaving on a boat many people
recognized them and followed them. Here are some activities to do
based on the theme of finding someone.
1 -- Use an object -- we suggest a small figurine of a man to represent Jesus -- and hide it somewhere in the room. Let your children search for it. Try it with 13 objects (one for Jesus and the 12 disciples). Place some of the objects out in the open.
2 -- Collect some photographs from magazines. Before showing the photos, look them over. Find some objects in each photo for the children to try to find.
3 -- You'll need more time with this project. Create a "hidden picture" project. Draw a picture. Within it draw small objects. Have your children try to find the objects you placed in your picture.
Take turns playing any of these three games with your children. Once you teach them to play, they'll soon want to hide objects for you to find.
