Children's Activity
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT HOME
Materials:
Inflated plastic balloons
String
Tape
O-shaped dry cereal -- Cheerios or Froot Loops
Directions:
1. Give each of the children a length of string and a few pieces of cereal.
2. Help the children tie the cereal onto one end of their strings.
3. Tape the strings to something, such as a table or desk ledge, so they hang freely.
4. Have the children rub the balloons over their hair several times.
5. Tell the children to slowly move the balloons toward the cereal strings.
6. The cereal strings will move to meet the balloons.
Note: The balloons have a negative charge and the cereal strings are neutral. However, if the children hold the balloons still, the cereal strings will move in the opposite direction, away from the balloons, because the cereal strings have taken on the negative charge.
