Who is it?
Children's sermon

Good morning! Let's play a game this morning. This game is
called, "Who is it?" I will tell you some facts about a famous
person and you try to guess who it is. Okay, let's begin. (Give
them some facts about a variety of famous people that they would
be able to identify and let them guess who it is.)
Okay, you did fairly well with those. Now let me give you
one final one for you to name. This man was born in Bethlehem and
his mother's name was Mary. He was actually the Son of God and he
died on a cross to pay for our sins. Who is it? (Let them
answer.) Yes, of course. It's Jesus. That was an easy one for us
to answer, wasn't it? But, do you know something? In the time of
Jesus, there were not too many people who could have gotten it
right, and there are still lots and lots of people in the world
who would not be able to answer that question so easily. Lots of
people don't know who Jesus is. What do you think we ought to do
about that? (Let them answer.) Yes, we need to tell people about
Jesus so they will know who he is. Do you think it would be a
good idea to invite them to church so that they can hear about
him? Is that a good idea? (Let them answer.) Yes, it surely is.
We want everybody to know about Jesus. Let's ask God to help us
tell people about him.
Dear God: We are so thankful that You have made us Your people
and told us about Your Son, Jesus. Help us tell others about him.
Amen.
