Who is Jesus -- who am I?
Children's Activity
Object:
Teachers: Jesus asks his disciples the question: "Who do
people say that I am?" Talk with your class about who Jesus is.
Peter answers the question correctly when he says, "You are the
Messiah."
Ask your students who they are. Give each student a sheet of paper. For children who can write have them put "Who I Am" on the top of the sheet. Tell the children you are going to ask them 10 questions. Have them number the sheet from 1 to 10. Ask them any of the following questions, or make up your own. Children can write the answers on their sheet.
Number 1 -- my name
Number 2 -- my age
Number 3 -- my address
Number 4 -- my school grade
Number 5 -- my family members' names
Number 6 -- my pets' names
Number 7 -- my favorite food
Number 8 -- my favorite TV show
Number 9 -- my favorite book
Number 10 -- my favorite color
For children who can't yet read and write have them draw themselves with their family and pets.
Parents: Your child pondered the question: Who is Jesus? Then she answered questions about who she is. She may want to do this exercise with you. Sometime during the week have her present a list of questions to you. These questions will help her identify who you are. You may wish to write them down, or verbally answer them. You can continue the exercise by asking her more specific questions about who she is. You might ask about her likes and dislikes and so forth.
