Materials
A favorite easy cookie recipe
All ingredients for recipe
Instructions
Have the ingredients for a simple recipe assembled in separate bowls or containers. Label each of them so that the children know what each ingredient is.
Ask the children if they would like to taste just the flour or the vanilla or the baking soda. Ask them if each ingredient tastes good by itself. Then mix all of the ingredients together and bake the cookies. Then let each child have a cookie to taste. Share the lesson of all of the parts working together to make something good. The ingredients don't taste good individually, but they have a wonderful taste when they are all mixed together. (You may want to have some of the cookies baked ahead of time, if actually baking the cookies is not feasible for you as part of the lesson.)
