You are special!

Hello again! You probably don't know it, but each of you brought with you something that will help me teach today's lesson. Your bodies! Our bodies are a perfect example of what today's lesson teaches. Think about your own body. What part of it is most important? (see what they think) I'm not sure I can answer that question, because I think every part of my body is important. My ears help me hear, my eyes help me see, my feet help me walk, my brain helps me think. I can't think of one part of my body that I don't need.
Just like one part of a body isn't most important, no one person is most important. Every person in the world has something to offer, just like every part of the body does. In today's lesson we learn that God has given us all very different gifts. You already know that we are all different from one another, but did you know that each of has been given something special to offer? Just like the human body needs eyes to see and ears to hear, the world needs the gifts that you have to offer.
Your gifts are yours alone, and they are different from the gifts the person next to you has. Some of us are good teachers. Some of us are generous givers. Some of us are good at encouraging others. Some of us are good helpers.
No one is good at everything, so we each need to share the gifts we have. The hard part is figuring out what our gifts are, and God can help us find out. The closer we get to him the more we can understand why he made each of us the way we are. As you get to know God better, ask him to teach you about yourself. You may think you know yourself pretty well, but I'll bet God has some new stuff to teach you about how special you are.
Prayer: God, thank you for making us the way we are. Amen.
