In 1998, for the first time in history, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis dropped its celestial navigation courses. With the global positioning satellites and all the electronic equipment aboard ships today, the Academy officially decided that it was unnecessary and old-fashioned to teach modern sailors how to locate themselves by viewing the stars. But as Jesus leads us out of the kingdom of darkness, we need to come to an understanding of how to navigate our lives according to the light that is set before us.
