The A&E Channel once...

The A&E Channel once had a Biography segment on General George Marshall. One of the major points the program made is that while famous names such as George Patton and Douglas McArthur are often credited with "winning" World War II and movies have been made showing their heroics, George Marshall was just as capable and visible as a general. Rather than winning the war, it was he who won the "peace" in both Europe and the South Pacific. He prepared the way to rebuild the war-torn nations to later be known as the "Marshall plan." Somebody had to lay the groundwork even if it meant not being so famous in the "war movies" in the following years. John the Baptist was like George Marshall. His work was vital for ushering in a new, peaceful era for the "war"-torn citizens of the world. As wars continue in the Middle East to this day, maybe there is a need for more people like George Marshall and John the Baptist to prepare people for a new time in a new era.
