And all spoke well of...

"And all spoke well of him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth." (Luke 4:22a)
"... All in the synagogue were filled with wrath. And they rose up and put him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill ... that they might throw him down headlong." (Luke 4:28b-29)
The fickleness of human emotion! At one point so impressed with Jesus and at another so enraged! This incident at the beginning of Jesus' ministry would be repeated again and again until its culmination of adulation on Palm Sunday, followed by the hatred and crucifixion on Good Friday.
The Good News is that One comes into our world of constant change who is "the same yesterday, today, and forever." He loves and accepts us despite our feelings.
