The apostle reminds us that we will all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, and at that time true justice will be meted out. It is not something that we like to admit, but there is a different kind of justice in our nation, depending on one's wealth. A few years ago when some savings and loan executives entered into some funny deals that made them rich but left their depositors with empty bank accounts, what kind of punishment did they receive? Even though many of those white-collar executives walked away with millions of dollars, most of them probably spent their prison time playing tennis at some minimum security facility. But what happens when some young punk from a poor, inner-
city neighborhood is dumb enough to rob a bank and get away with a few thousand dollars? When he is finally caught, do you think that the warden will have a tennis pro waiting for him? Of course not.
