Archaeologists uncovered on the wall of an ancient Greek school house an interesting piece of graffiti. It depicted a man with the head of a donkey hanging on a cross. Underneath the drawing were the words "Alexemenos glorifies his god." Alexemenos was evidently a young school boy from a Christian family and was being mocked by a classmate. If you want to do some deep thinking about Paul's words in reference to contemporary issues, I recommend Leslie Newbigin's book, Foolishness to the Greeks -- The Gospel and Western Culture.
