Ashley enjoys hiking and usually plans vacations around places where she would like to
hike. Last spring she was hiking though a state park in Hawaii. She saw beauty all around
her like she had never experienced before. It was an awesome experience.
She planned to hike most of the day, joining her family late in the afternoon. She did something that she knew she should not have done, she ventured off the path wanting to examine a native flower. She thought she could easily find her way back. However, Ashley lost her sense of direction and before too long realized that she was lost.
Panic set in as the sun set, knowing that she would spend the night in the park. It was then that she began praying, seeking God's protection and guidance. How could she have done such a foolish thing, she thought over and over. She soon ran out of supplies, expecting only to hike in the afternoon. The temperature began to drop, and she was cold. She knew no one would look for her until the next day.
The next morning she witnessed a beautiful sunrise that found her once again praying. She promised to change her ways, read her Bible, and give more of her time to her local church. By early afternoon, a group of volunteers found her, cold and hungry. Ashley was happy to be rescued and reunited with her family. It was an experience she would never forget.
