Betty has done just about...

Betty has done just about every thing there is to do in her church. She has served on every committee and has even gone the second mile by visiting the sick and taking meals to shut-ins. Her husband, however, doesn't want anything to do with Jesus, the church, or religion of any kind. He can't understand why she wants to spend so much of her time doing "church work," as he calls it. Over the years her involvement in the church has so angered him that he has actually threatened to divorce her. Yet, she continues to be devoted to the Lord and his work. "I hope he doesn't leave me!" she says, "But I hope he knows that I can never leave the Lord, either."
Have you ever experienced rejection? The Bible tells us that if you have chosen Christ and his way, and are a worker in God's service, you will face rejection. But when we remain faithful, it doesn't matter what people say about us. They might reject us and insult us and degrade us. But we cannot let the fear of rejection keep us from doing the Lord's work. On the other hand, when we take the risk, those who welcome us, welcome Jesus.
"Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me."
