Bob was a loyal member...

Bob was a loyal member of his church for well over fifty years. He would be in worship every week no matter the weather conditions. Over the years he held various offices within the church and served with integrity. It wasn’t until Bob died that others in the church became aware of the scope of his good deeds. Behind the scenes Bob had arranged to help support various ministries within the church so that they would continue. When the youth fellowship leader needed additional funds, Bob would gladly make a donation. When the community food bank was low on food, Bob would take his pickup truck to the grocery store and return with food. When a family struggled with employment issues, Bob would take the children to the mall to buy them back-to-school clothing. There were other things Bob did, but everything he did with humility not seeking to draw attention to himself. Bob’s generosity did not come from his checkbook but rather from his heart. He understood what James meant when he wrote, “But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.” He inspired faith and impacted many people over his life.
