Bobby had spent several hours snapping together his new G.I. Joe airplane model. When he had finished its assembly, he had stood back and admired the camouflage paint job which made it look so authentic. Then he had taken the plane outside to play "dogfight" with a friend who had a similar toy plane. When they finished playing with the planes, he had left his on the shelf in the garage.
His sister, Patty, had always enjoyed painting things to make them look pretty. She honestly thought she was doing something creative and helpful when she took out her new paint set and brushed bright yellow and pink flowers onto the fuselage and wings.
Naturally, when their father, Frank, heard the loud argument coming from the garage, he went quickly to attempt a peace-making mission. He found his two children facing each other spitting threats at each other. Bobby wanted to disfigure one of his sister's toys to get even. Patty was sorry, but she felt her paint job was an improvement. Therefore, Bobby's anger was an affront to her artistic expression.
Well, Frank took one child in each hand, sternly looked them in the eye and said, "I want you two to hug and make up, and I want you to do it NOW!"
They looked at their father, knew he meant business, and proceeded to obey his command to make peace.
