Bruce Larson tells the story...

Bruce Larson tells the story of an aquaintance who encountered the sharpness of the Word of God in a casual conversation. The man was visiting in Victoria, British Columbia, during a holiday vacation. He went to a store that sold souvenirs. He browsed around for a few minutes, and then as he approached the cash register, the lady at the desk asked him, "Would you help me?" She had been reading the Bible and had come to a section that did not make sense to her, and she asked the man in the story if he knew what the passage meant. He did the best he could, and she appreciated his interst.
Later, back at his hotel room he opened the Gideon Bible on his table and began to read for hours. There was something in that one section of the Bible that caught his attention.
Once again the Bible had done its work "discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." The man has been pierced by the two-edged sword of the Word of God.
