The Canaanite woman is the first person outside of the nation of Israel to be ministered to by Jesus. A young veteran with a law degree and no income applied at a local automobile plant in Mansfield, Ohio, for a job. He was turned down because he was overqualified for the position. While still searching for any kind of employment, he returned to the automotive plant several times and was always rejected for the same reason. Finally, one day he pleaded in such a way that a sympathetic person finally gave in against her better judgment and hired him. In a few short weeks he became an assembly line leader. He represented his fellow workers in union negotiations and was so honest and objective that the company hired him to work for them in the labor-management division of the company. In the space of three short years he was asked to join the management team of General Motors in Detroit, Michigan. All of this was the result of his unwillingness to take "no" for an answer and a desire to dedicate himself to his benefactors. -- Runk
