At a center for the treatment of alcoholism in Norton, Kansas, there is a swimming pool with a sign that says, "Please Don't Walk on the Water." That may seem like an odd joke to those who know little about alcoholism and alcoholics, but to them, it is as true a truism as can be found. When we get to thinking that we can do anything -- look out! That is the beginning of our fall.
