Emphasis Preaching Journal

As a child I had what might be called Bible Awe. We had a huge King James Family Bible sitting on the coffee table. That Bible was the biggest book I had ever seen. It consisted of concordance, dictionary, and, of course, the text itself. Bound in genuine leather and gilded in gold, it was awesome. Even the few pictures within it captivated my imagination. In Genesis there was a picture of God, standing on a cloud creating a round orb which would become the earth. In Daniel the fierce lions cowered in their bone-strewed pit before the mighty man of God.
