A church survey asked all...

A church survey asked all the members to identify what one thing about the church was the biggest problem, and most needed to be addressed and changed. When the surveys came back, the answers read: burnout, burnout, burnout, burnout. The church was engaged in a lot of "busy" activities and fund-raising activities, and this worked to tear the congregation down and wear them out. The church consultant working with them asked how they might stop the burnout and start "building one another up" instead. Gradually, bingo and bazaars and basketball were replaced with Bible study, intercessory prayer, and mission projects. The church solved its burnout problem when it put as its first priority the building up of the members.
