Clergy see it all too...
Illustration
Clergy see it all too often -- families on one side of a marriage refusing to accept the choice their offspring has made. But if the marriage is a good one and if the couple lives out the vows in faithfulness, then in most cases the rift will heal. This is especially true when the first child is born. There is now a unifying ingredient that welds the two sides together. The child is not a creation of just one side of the family. If the grandparents wish to share in the life of their grandchild, then they must come onside. A child through its innocence and openness to all becomes a potential peacemaker who tears down "irreconcilable" differences.
