On the cross, Jesus encountered...

On the cross, Jesus encountered both terrible physical pain and extreme emotional pain. It was a source of great anguish for Jesus to realize that the same community that supported him one day was crucifying him the next. What a difference a day makes!
Some people choose to hurt us, but we never fully understand why. Those who nailed Jesus to the cross thought they were ridding the world of an evil. But they were wrong. Instead, those who crucified Jesus simply pronounced judgment upon themselves. Beware! Whenever we deem ourselves worthy of being judge and jury, we will inevitably be sitting in the wrong chair. At the Crucifixion, the accusers became the accused.
People of faith are always people of tomorrow. We may be crucified today but we know we shall be healed tomorrow. If we die at the hands of the blind, we are assured that tomorrow - if the mob allows itself to see things as they really are - their blindness shall be taken away and they too shall see that the wrong man was nailed to the tree.
