Darkness is the domain of...

Darkness is the domain of evil and fear. When soldiers are on sentry duty in the night, they are most always in pairs. Why? Because the darkness plays tricks on us. When it is totally dark, what lies in front of us in unknown. Add a little imagination to the mix and we will hear and see things that do not really exist. Someone standing and watching with us tempers the imagination, reduces the fear, and helps us deal with the threat of the unknown. When it is totally dark we can do evil things to ourselves out of desperation and extreme anxiety. Light is the domain of confidence and truth. The landscape that seemed so spooky in the night can be very welcoming and assuring in the day. What we see is really there. Even the strangest sounds will not alarm when we understand the source.
