The dictionary definition of witness...

The dictionary definition of "witness" is one who has personal knowledge and gives specific evidence concerning an act or event having taken place in her or his presence. Paul was a personal witness to Christ's appearance on the Damascus Road. The persecutor became the peripatetic apostle when he was confronted by the risen Christ. Legend has it that at the bottom of a farm pond lived a group of gloomy grubs. The grubs failed to understand why none of their deceased kin ever came back to the nether regions of the pond after crawling up the lily stems to the top of the water. At last, a brave grub told his mates he would report on what happened when he reached the surface. When this daring grub achieved the surface he was transformed into a dragonfly with beautiful wings outstretched to catch the glow of the sun. As he flew over the pond, he thought of his pals below the surface. He finally concluded he would not return. Even if the grubs could see him, they would not recognize such a radiant being as he had become. We on this earth cannot see our resurrected brothers and sisters in Christ. We cannot glimpse through the keyhole of heaven. We can, however, put our faith in the Lord of Resurrection and Life! -- Mills
