Since the dissolution of the former Soviet Union, many Christians have traveled to Russia and other former USSR countries. After decades of hearing these people described as "Godless Communists" and as a people of no religious belief, these pilgrims are startled to find churches throughout the land and Christians who under persecution waited faithfully for religious freedom to be restored. Outlawing the church, closing the buildings, and forbidding religious belief could not suppress enduring faith. -- Kelly
