Do you find it difficult...

Do you find it difficult to trust your spouse, your children, or your friends? Consider
Joseph's dilemma. His fiancée left Nazareth to visit her cousin for three months. Mary
returned from that trip pregnant. Suppose that your spouse, girlfriend, or daughter went
out of town for three months and came home in a family way. Would you believe a story
about the Holy Spirit causing her pregnancy? Joseph didn't either, though he hesitated to
publicly humiliate Mary. Only angelic intervention convinced him of Mary's innocence.
Are you skeptical and suspicious of your loved ones? Unbelievable stories are sometimes factual. Think about the life-threatening implications of skepticism and mistrust. And consider the following:
* It's better to verify than to boil. I've ruined a lot of good days stewing over things that had no basis in fact.
* Suspicion and doubt create frigid hearts and brittle arteries in us.
Unless we change those attitudes, they can send us prematurely to the cemetery. The present is always a good time to warm our hearts and soften our arteries.
