Dorothy was told hen leg...

Dorothy was told hen leg would have to be removed. Circulation no longer worked its wonders in her diseased leg. Infection was not threatening to overtake her whole body and she was running the very real risk of death. Dorothy gave her physician the go ahead and several hours later she awoke in the recovery room to discover that the operation had been successful. The old leg and the medical problems it had been causing her was gone, it was a thing of the past, it could no longer cause her pain. While discussing the details of the procedure, the physician discovered something about his patient that he had not known prior to the surgery. Dorothy was a Christian.
Dorothy had discovered, while both of her legs were healthy that with on without the use of her limbs, she was whole, she was a new creation in God's sight. She had, with purpose, years before decided to remove from her life all of the things that threatened to move her life in directions she knew she should not go. She had, like a surgeon, discovered the parts of her life that were diseased and carefully, and thoroughly exercised them and removed the threat. Her life was lived, with on without her leg as if she had been clothed in God's all encompassing armor. Each day lived, was another opportunity to discover new knowledge about the Lord and about her relationship to the Lord. She discovered that Jesus is the shaper of lives that is available to all and that his creative capacity to give new life was and remains eternal.
