Every summer in south central Pennsylvania, Creation Festival, which draws tens of
thousands of teenagers and young adults, is held. Some of the most popular contemporary
Christian musicians and singers have the opportunity to perform. In addition to the music
there are inspirational speakers, daily Bible study, and workshops on a variety of
subjects. The youth enjoy the festival as others would a rock concert.
Several years ago, Dr. Tony Campolo was one of the speakers. Some of the youth learned that the following Sunday Dr. Campolo was scheduled to speak at a church in a nearby town. They decided they would attend.
On Sunday morning at a very traditional church, two dozen youth sat in the balcony. As the pastor in a monotone without emotion, read the call to worship, "Praise the Lord" the teenagers in the balcony stood up and began dancing around as they praised the Lord. This caused quite a stir in this middle-class church. They were used to praising the Lord without restrain.
King David praised the Lord with his whole being. "David and all the house of Israel were dancing before the Lord with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals." David was dancing in the street. He, too, must have been a sight to behold.
