Every year, the Hawaii Ironman...

Every year, the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon is broadcast sometime during the winter. A few years ago, there was a surprise in the women's race. The overwhelming favorite, Paula Newby-Fraser, was challenged by a little known Swiss newcomer named Natascha Badmann. Though it was her first try at the Hawaii Ironman, Badmann ran a strong second for most of the race, and even led for a while over the veteran champion Newby-Fraser.
Many experts attributed her remarkable success to her mental attitude. Instead of grimly surviving the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run, Badmann found joy in simply racing, rejoicing in the strength and endurance God had given her. Natascha Badmann's joyful smile allowed her to patiently endure a very long day, and eventually, on her third try, she won the world's toughest triathlon.
