The famous psychiatrist, Dr. Karl Menninger, was asked what he would do if he knew he
was going to have a nervous breakdown. His reply was, "Go and find someone in worse
condition than myself and try to help that person."
Pastor Tommy Tyson was returning from a trip to the Holy Land and saw a friend on the plane. The other pastor called to him, "While in Israel I heard a good story, Do you know what the 'sin of the desert' is?"
"No, you have me stumped," replied Tommy. "What is the sin of the desert?"
"Knowing where there is water, and not telling anyone!"
Some of us know Christ as the living water that truly satisfies our innermost hunger and thirst, and yet we fail to tell others.
Dear Lord, guide me in being an excited witness to your glory. Telling the good news that there is water in the desert of barren lives -- water that truly satisfies. Yes, Lord, Amen!
