A favorite Christmas tradition for many people is watching the many movies with a Christmas theme. There are the timeless classics such as A Christmas Carol as well as more contemporary stories like The Family Man. There is one theme in many of these favorite movies, and that is how the person changes the direction of his or her life. The main character is consumed with other pursuits when something unexpected happens to touch the person in a life-changing way.
The shepherds were perhaps the least likely to respond, but that night they knelt before the infant Jesus. They were viewed as social outcasts -- out in their fields away from the people. They, too, had a life-changing experience that altered their lives. As they left the stable that holy night, they went, "glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen...."
